NG Any%/ASL and All Weapons
The gate at the start opens quite quickly, but you can still get through it faster by clipping through. This is one of the hardest clips in the game. Position yourself between the stones of the gate and the small rocks to its left, and just keep rolling down and right. You will be able to tell whether your position is correct if the Kid looks like he is jammed between the two as opposed to moving along either. There is a patch of fake ground immediately ahead of where you will end up after you clip through. Adjust your roll up as you clip to avoid it.
Ignore the Fire Bellows - it's a trap. It's actually the worst weapon in the game.
At some point in the level, the way will be blocked by some wilted weeds. Use the Pike to clean them out. Try to hit as few objects as possible to get fewer freeze frames.
After you take the shard, roll back to where the new path will form. This area forms so slowly that you cannot roll at all without falling until you see the corner of the platform at the top of the stairs. Don't roll into the Skybridge before using it as you would in other levels, as this can get you stuck on the weeds.
- All Weapons - Pick up the Fire Bellows now. We're so sorry.
The placement of the weeds on the way back after the Skybridge can make it very easy to fall. You can roll past the first patch (next to the skeleton) by angling your roll parallel to the ground the weeds are sitting on. You must destroy the second patch to get through. The most optimal way to do this is to only destroy the bottom-most one and rolling past the rest.
- All Weapons - Neither the Bellows nor the Calamity Cannon has the precision to destroy only one weed, so don't worry about that. Just destroy them enough to get through quickly.
If you clipped through the gate at the start, it will still be closed. Do the same clip again - it's much easier from this side.
- Any% and All Weapons - Take care while cleaning out the debris after the clip. If you have the pike, you will often accidentally hit another enemy, be ready to have to use the pike again.
- ASL - Throw an untargeted Grenade at the weeds blocking the path to the Skyway before you clip back through. They will be destroyed by the time you finish clipping.
Complete the Cauldron by taking the Skyway in the same place where you entered the level.
NG+ Any%/ASL
The gate at the start opens quite quickly, but you can still get through it faster by clipping through. Pike Vault such that you land between the stones of the gate and the small rocks to its left, and you will land in a position to clip through immediately. If you miss it, you can still use NG strats to get through. There is a patch of fake ground immediately ahead of where you will end up after you clip through. Adjust your roll up as you clip to avoid it.
At some point in the level, the way will be blocked by some wilted weeds. Use the Pike or the Musket to clean them out. If you use the Pike, try to hit as few objects as possible to get fewer freeze frames. If you use the Musket, make sure you are close enough to the weeds when you fire, or you risk the shot not destroying enough to clear a path.
Attempt the CC Skip, fail it, cry.
After you take the shard, roll back to where the new path will form. This area forms so slowly that you cannot roll at all without falling until you see the corner of the platform at the top of the stairs. Don't roll into the Skybridge before using it as you would in other levels, as this can get you stuck on the weeds.
The placement of the weeds on the way back after the Skybridge can make it very easy to fall. You can roll past the first patch (next to the skeleton) by angling your roll parallel to the ground the weeds are sitting on. You must destroy the second patch to get through. You can either Pike the bottom-most weed for the fewest freeze frames or shoot them all with the Musket for zero freeze frames.
If you clipped through the gate at the start, it will still be closed. Get into position to clip back, fire the Musket at the weeds blocking the path to the Skyway, then do the same clip again - it's much easier from this side. Complete the Cauldron by taking the Skyway in the same place where you entered the level.
Since you have the Cham-pain equipped, take extra care. Behind the gate a lot of enemies, mainly Stinkeyes, are spawned, and you are likely to take a lot of damage.
