Formatting / Editing

@Sparky - I see you've been doing some editing and reverted back and forth and blahblah. The reason I originally had reverted your work back is because I had a plan for this page. Regardless, whatever. Anyhow, as you may or may not have noticed, I have decided to simply put early missile expansions and energy tanks into this page. It seems pointless to have a separate page for something that simply is yet another early item. --Kharay1977 12:46, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

alright, cool. i wasn't sure if this page or the "skipping ____" page should be the 'first' place for the tricks that fall into both categories, but since you mostly finished the other pages, i've just put "see: skipping_items#whatever" in the descriptions so we don't have duplicate explanations. early expansions also works well here i think. guess we should just group each of those at the end with room name subheadings? - sparky

Anyhow, yeah, I think it would be best to simply keep with the same kind of format as we have on Metroid2002.com and as I've tried to do on the Skipping Items page. So, basically, naming things as the community knows them. This article isn't intended to be referenced by absolute beginners. This is SDA after all, you typically won't find absolute beginners here to begin with. --Kharay1977 14:40, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
right. i think it's important to differentiate between necessary items (before spider vs. before grapple and all that), even though m2k2 tends to just have one page for "early plasma" or whatever. in some cases different items make huge differences (ie: plasma before wave, different early wilds, etc), so having a consistent theme throughout is probably a good idea. also, different routes and stuff leave you with different possibilities, so the "minimal requirements" isn't always the best way. - sparky
As long as we stick with a uniform look'n'feel for the entire article (and later for the MP2 and MP3 articles). So people will know what to expect from a specific page. --Kharay1977 16:03, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
