Sony Playstation (PS2)

All video output of the Playstation 2 is handled by the console's Multi-Out connector. Sony's Multi-Out has pins for Composite, S-Video, Component, SCART, and VGA connections, although the Multi-Out cables do not always feature all connectors. Sony used the same Multi-Out connector for the Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 models.

Backwards compatibility with Playstation 1 games

The Playstation 2 is backwards compatible with most Playstation 1 games. There are a few exceptions .

PS2 consoles can also output RGB/SCART signals, but capturing them can be difficult. Please see our guide regarding RGB capture.
