Preface
PAGE IS WORK IN PROGRESS
Due to the discovery of the Mazerunner Skip in realMyst: Masterpiece Edition, the run saves enough time over realMyst to be run in its own merits, while still being wildly different from the previous two games. The run requires familiar knowledge with the SAge glitch and C/Node Jumping, so make sure to vaguely read here.
Setup
Start the game in Classic Mode, since, on average, its pathing is faster than Free Roam. If Free Roam is ever necessary, strafing diagonally is the fastest movement method available, so use it unless the Free Roam movement requires a bit more finesse. In such cases, it also makes sense to temporarily turn off Sprint Toggle, Caps Lock, but in all other cases it should be on, even in Classic, though it doesn't affect it.
Before starting the run, save over all other saves to ensure that every save that is used in the game is made during the run. Though the route only uses one save at a time, it's better to be safe than sorry - the game can be unstable with odd saves.
Move up to the switch in front of the Star Imager and flip it, since it's the only opportunity available to flip it.
As you head down the island to unlock all ages, activate the Stoneship Leaf and switch. Continue to the cabin, flip the switch, and light the boiler (code 724 on the safe on back left wall, open matchbox, make a vague swipe to light, and put it in the square in the lower left of the boiler. Do not turn the wheel at all.
Head towards the Mechanical tower and enter in the time of 2:40, which is best optimized as six big wheel turns and then big-small-big-small button. The minor optimization saves mouse movement and time spent waiting for wheels to turn. Go across the gear bridge, flip the switch, and head inside to enter 2-2-1. The best method is pull and hold right for one extra tick, pull and hold left for one extra tick, and then pull right. This allows leaving the tower as soon as possible.
Head towards the generator building, pull the switch, and head all the way down to the door. Press the button to open the door and, when the door is FULLY open, Node Jump into the panel room and enter in the fastest code for 59 volts.
Heading back out, press the Stoneship Beetle and Snake and continue as if you are heading towards Selenitic, but stop short of the bridge to this screen:
Swap to Free Roam, save in position, and swap back to Classic. It's possible to do this in one menu opening, by using the page-down button to go back from settings to saves. It's important to transition to Free Roam into the save, as skips further into Channelwood are rendered impossible if not done right.
Head back to the cabin, send the tree upwards as fast as possible, move to the front of the tree, and swap to Free Roam. Clip into the tree (hints here) and continue into the room. SAge glitch into Channelwood using the save just made.
Channelwood Age
On first entrance, the player looks into a sea of tree stumps and underwater textures. C-Jump as soon as possible and turn around to pull the lever to unlock the staircase. Head around to the staircase, move down the stairs, and head to valve 1, flipping it. Head up towards the windmill, turn on the water, and head back over to and up the stairs.
Move into and up the elevator to the third floor and grab a page - it's irrelevant which is first in this case, but they are found in opposite directions - Achenar's directly ahead and Sirrus's directly behind. Before heading back into the elevator, swap to Free Roam and then head into the elevator. You'll need to make a particular save that's not so far in the game disallows it, but not too far out to not sidle the elevator door. A good reference point is looking down as far as possible and lining that up with the edge of the floor of the elevator - there's enough clearance on both sides to make it worth aiming for. A reference:
Save and load. While loading back into the age, close the door and right click to wait until you can turn the view to the right. Once looking to the right, strafe very slightly to the right until you can pull down the elevator lever, and immediately strafe to the left. A reference for what to look out for:
Make sure the top of the elevator is much lower than the floor before you sprint - if not, the game will snap you back into the elevator, or, worse, fling you straight down into the water at maximum volume. Once that clearance is reached, sprint strafe diagonally off the edge, aiming for the leftmost bridge corner. Once you make it, face towards the stairs and swap to Classic. By facing the stairs, the slowness of the first movement made from a save is eaten by turning around. Flip 1, head towards and flip 2, and head towards and activate the bridge. Head towards and flip 4, then head back towards the receiving end of the pipe mechanism, activating it. Head to and up the book elevator and leave the Age.
Since you SAge glitched from a save were the tree wasn't heading up, the only difference in the world is the boiler will appear lit but not actually be lit, and nothing else. To get the second page, treeclip again, this time with no SAge glitch, and finish out the age as before, with the elevator escape glitch and the other page.
From here on, any oder of the three ages can be done with no changes in final timing.
