Sony Playstation (PS2)

All video output of the Playstation 2 is handled by the console's Multi-Out connector. Sony's Multi-Out has pins for Composite, S-Video, Component, SCART, and VGA connections, although the Multi-Out cables do not always feature all connectors. Sony used the same Multi-Out connector for the Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 models.

Backwards compatibility with Playstation 1 games

The Playstation 2 is backwards compatible with most Playstation 1 games. There are a few exceptions
Note: The Playstation 2 will run older Playstation 1 games at their native resolution. This means that most Playstation games will be running at 240 lines of resolution. Please make sure that your capture card supports 240 lines of resolution.
