Template talk:Sda run
From SDA Knowledge Base
Link Input Parameter
If this template is solely for linking posted SDA runs, would it be better to just have the input parameter as the name of the SDA page, rather than the full link? So instead of the way you have it now, just make it:
- {{message box|1=[[Image:SDAlogo runner.png|25px]] '''This game has a <span class="plainlinks">[http://speeddemosarchive.com/{{{1}}}.html run page on SDA]</span>!'''|color=#cdad00|border=#ffd700}}<includeonly>[[Category:SDA runs]]</includeonly><noinclude>
If you wanted to make things somewhat complicated, you could generate a page based on the wiki page title (you can pretty easily parse out categories), check if the SDA page actually exists, and then automatically put the info box on the wiki page. Though that would probably require adding extensions of some sort as well, which might be more trouble than it's worth. (You could probably circumvent dealing with mediawiki completely.)
Of course, I don't know if you want to change this at all considering pages already have this template active. Better to ask this now than later.
