Controls

There are several keys that are not listed in the controls configuration menu. The useful controls are:

  • ESC = Skip Introduction Cutscene, Close diary entries and rucksack
  • E = Use object
  • R = Eat, Drink (in rucksack menu)
  • T = Take object in your hand (in rucksack menu)
  • D = Throw away one object (in rucksack menu)
  • Z = Sleep
  • S = Combine 2+ objects (in rucksack menu after marking combinable objects)

Taking something in your hand and using the left mouse button has the same effect like using E while selecting something in the rucksack.

Shortcuts

Select a single item in your rucksack and press a number key (1 - 9). When you now press that number key while the menu is closed you will take the selected item in your hand.

Rucksack

You can carry up to 25000 gram at once. If you catch butterflies you can carry 500 gram more for each butterfly in your rucksack.
Logs do weigh 10000 gram and are needed on the first island, therefore you'll have to plan which items to drop and where to drop them.

Using well water

You can use the water of non natural wells by jumping on top of it and standing on top of the water. Then you can use the water to make bendable branches or dough for example.

Slightly faster harvesting

The scythe is the best tool for harvesting plants as it deals the most damage to them. However the interval in which you can swing the scythe is pretty big.
Therefore it is faster to hit the plants one time less than necessary and hit it the final time with the hammer. This saves a small amount of time.

  • Hemp Tree: 8x Scythe + 1x Hammer
  • Wheat: 2x Scythe + 1x Hammer
  • Sea Weed: 8x Scythe + 1x Hammer

Flee from enemies

You can go into water to evade enemies. If you are in water they can neither see you nor reach you.
They will automatically turn around when touching water.

Catching a parrot

Catching a parrot is only possible in adventure mode. You can catch exactly one parrot for the pirate, it will not be shown in your rucksack though. It is possible to catch one with a net or by pressing E while beeing very close to one. Doing it without a net is only possible if a parrot is stuck in a tree or another object.

Locust Plague

Locusts will appear when four conditions are met:

  1. You go sleep
  2. There are more than 30 wheat plants on the island
  3. Your planting skill level is higher than 40
  4. Random Number from 1 to 3 is 1

Damage Output

Different tools deal a different amount of damage to objects. Some tools do more damage to specific objects (for example an axe does extra damage to trees). Here's an estimation of how much damage each tool does (further testing necessary):

  • Hand = 1x
  • Hammer = 2x
  • Scythe = 7x (Plants)

Glitches

Fast tiredness

In order to be able to sleep you must have a specific amount of tiredness.
You can speed up the process of getting tired enough by using this setup:

  1. Set a new building site for a tent
  2. Right click on it with the hammer (the required materials should now show)
  3. Quickly take a fishing rod or a spade in your hands
  4. While the required materials are shown right click to build up your tiredness

You can sleep after right clicking three times. You can at most sleep 4 times before having to right click the building site again.
After you have slept the desired amount of times you will have to eat something in order to avoid the hunger and thirst killing you.

Island 2 Portal

The portal on Island 2 requires you to put 25 "children of the sea" onto it before it transports you to the next island.
However each time you try to use it the amount of children of the sea (fish, starfish, clams) that is currently lying on the portal is subtracted from 25. This way you can use the portal by placing a smaller amount of items on it and save time by not having to collect 25 items.
