Coin Route

You require 501000 coins to unlock all the worlds in this game. This is much more than you would get simply playing through levels without paying them any attention, so you have to give some thought to which coins to pick up. An analysis of every major coin source in the game and its cost to collect is available here.

In short, the map order is 1-2-3-5-4.

Aboard the Sweet Stuff

  • There are a number of rooms in the game where you have to be prepared to do a shake immediately upon entering. The first of these is the room after the indoor one with the floating blue bandineros. Any time you come up to one of these rooms, make sure to jump as you leave the screen - this will cause you to always enter the next screen on the ground.
  • In the room with six large blocks above you, break each of them with a jump (count six jumps) then turn around and immediately jump one more time. This should ideally cause you to pick up the leftmost coin with this jump.
  • In the escape room, mash 2 as you go through the corridor so that you get your first jump as early as possible. The objective is to get three jumps in without hitting the left wall.

Shop

The only minor piece of menuing in this game, but it pays to have it be automatic. Inputs are simply 2, <select world>, 2 twice to confirm, 1 to exit, and 2 twice to confirm. So when buying the first map the inputs are 2 2 2 1 2 2, for the second, 2 v 2 2 1 2 2, or for the fifth, 2 ^ 2 2 1 2 2, since the menu loops in the shop.

Stonecarving City

  • The very first room after the entrance is another where you need to shake immediately upon entering.
  • With the very last enemy before the cage, the objective is to knock him slightly to the left. There's a couple of ways to do this, but the most reliable one is to bounce off the enemy's head and knock it left. If it works, you can simply dash right over the enemy and dash again, otherwise you have to dash jump over the enemy which costs a little time.
