Run Categories

71 Star (Any%)

Beat Bowser's Galaxy Generator. This stage requires 70 Stars to unlock, and beating it gives you a 71st Star as well as the ending and credits.

120 Star (50%)

Collect 120 regular Stars and beat Bowser's Galaxy Generator again, thus unlocking the Green Stars.

242 Star (100%)

Collect 242 Stars: the first 120 Stars, the 120 Green Stars, and the 2 Stars from Grandmaster Galaxy.

Variants: With Banktoad, Without Banktoad

Any of the above categories can be done "with Banktoad", or "without Banktoad". This means using/not using star bits from other files.

  • With Banktoad means that you may deposit star bits into the Banktoad before the start of the run, and then withdraw those star bits from the Banktoad during the run.
  • Without Banktoad means that you may not withdraw any star bits deposited from other files. In 242 Star, the bank must also be empty at the start of the run, since The Perfect Run requires having 9999 star bits in the bank.
