Alucard Game Mechanics
Character Movement
- Alucard
- Backdashing is faster then walking. (All movement speed techniques are faster then backdashing)
- When taking at least half your health in damage, you will get thrown + gain height until you hit a surface. This is often called a "Big Toss".
- Dive-kicking close to the floor and hitting the ground without any directions held down will make you slide on the ground.
- Attacking with any non-thrust/throw/bomb weapon will cancel forward momentum in a dive-kick.
- If you get hit during a jump, equipping and unequipping Axelord Armor will allow you to regain control.
- Attacking the frame before you land from a long drop cancels the landing animation.
- Wolf
- If you transform into Wolf in the air, you can dive-kick after you're untransformed.
- Jumping repeatedly while in an acute angle will push you through the floor. (See Richter Skip)
Combat techniques
You can cancel an attack animation by landing on the ground.
Attacking down and forward while jumping (with a weapon other then knuckle-type or throwing-type) is faster then just attacking on the ground, this is especially true for weapons with low attack rate.
Invulnerability
Transformations grants periodic invulnerability.
Jumps using Gravity Boots give you invulnerability until you reach it's apex.
Form of Mist might be the most obvious way to avoid taking damage. Power of Mist makes you invulnerable until you run out of MP.
- Items that grant invulnerability
- Potion/High Potion/Elixir
- Mana Prism
- Uncurse/Antivenom
- Library Card
- Spells that grant invulnerability
- Summon Spirit
- Tetra Spirit
- Hellfire
- Wing Smash
- Wolf Charge
- Shield Spells
- Dark Metamorphosis
Stat Gains
Alucard Glitches
- Shop Glitch
You need to have any 1 sellable gem and any of the familiars. It must also be done on your first visit into the shop.
Follow these steps:
- Stand with your back against the screen transition
- Enable/Equip/Summon the familiar
- As soon as you hear the familiar talking, backdash into the shop
- Quickly skip the cutscene with the Librarian and bring up your menu (disable the familiar if you want)
- Go into the shop, go into "sell"
- Bring up your menu again and equip the sellable gem
- Sell the gem
- Go back one step in the shop menu and then back into "sell"
- You should now be able to sell 255 more of that sellable gem (and buy anything you want)
This can be done even after visiting the shop but only works with the Sword familiar. You go into the librarians room and cast the Sword Brothers spell and then go talk to the librarian. The rest of the steps are exactly the same.
