- Sonic Retro's Sonic Physics Guide is a fantastic resource for understanding how speed works in the Sonic games.
- TASvideos has a much more in-depth analysis, mostly dealing with the way the engine works. It can be found at http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/Genesis/SonicTheHedgehog.html (this covers all three games in the classic series).
Maps
- The Sonic Center hosts very detailed maps of all the stages. Legend: green = solidity from the top, red = solidity from the bottom and sides, blue = solidity from all sides.
Tool Assisted Speedrun
- The TAS of this game shows everything done with utmost precision, including some theoretical strategies not yet implemented into real time runs.
