Once you enter The Asylum, Jeannette will start a conversation. Regardless if you tell her to fuck off (3, 2, 1) or ask for her name (1, 1, 1), you'll have to make 3 dialog choices and speed through the same amount of conversation pieces. Once she goes up the elevator, talk to the bartender. If your persuasion is high enough, you can use the blue dialog choices (3, 3, 1). If it's not, you can still get access to the elevator (3, 1, 1, 1) but it'll take an extra dialog choice.

If you're under 90% health, running through here will be death at the last steam pipe. Duck under the first pipe to save health if need be. Finally, grab the pendant from the last room, then drop down the elevator 1 floor and exit the Oceanhouse. Follow the sewers and head back to the Asylum (the same way you got here just in reverse).

Santa Monica

Tricks required:

  • Circle jump fence skip to get early Astrolite
  • Stair skip at the Oceanhouse
  • Explosive damage boost at the Warehouse

Intro

This sequence is supposed to introduce the player to the basic game mechanics, but for speed it's skipped. Dialog options with Jack are: 1, 3, 3, 1. This does skip getting the lockpick, so it will have to be purchased before the next quest (required item).

Astrolite

To start, grab the 3 bloodpacks in your apt fridge, then grab the money out of the drawer. Leave the apt and head for Trip's Pawnshop to buy the lockpick. Now head down to the pier and circle jump over the fence. (**Optional** hitbox shift to trigger the level change from under the stairs since it's slower to try and walk up manually) Once at the beach house, jump the fence to alert the drug dealers. Either punch the glass or get them to shoot it out, then grab the Astrolite and head to Mercurio's apt. You'll have to go through 2 conversations in a row here (the initial meeting and coming back with the Astrolite). Dialog options are: 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 for the first convo and 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 4. Now that you've completed 2 quests at once, it's time to leave Mercurio's apt and head over to The Asylum.

The Oceanhouse

Once you enter The Asylum, Jeannette will start a conversation. Regardless if you tell her to fuck off (3, 2, 1) or ask for her name (1, 1, 1), you'll have to make 3 dialog choices and speed through the same amount of conversation pieces. Once she goes up the elevator, talk to the bartender. If your persuasion is high enough, you can use the blue dialog choices (3, 3, 1). If it's not, you can still get access to the elevator (3, 1, 1, 1) but it'll take an extra dialog choice.

Once off of the elevator, do a quicksave/quickload to bypass the twins' argument, then enter and talk to Therese. <dialog options go here>. Once that's done, exit the building and enter the sewer entrance to the right side of The Asylum. After exiting the sewer pipe, head to the left, open the locked door with the key Therese provided, then climb up to the Oceanhouse sewer exit. Immediately head to the Oceanhouse door and use Blood Buff to pick the lock.

Once inside, head to the right staircase. Just as the game tries to pull you into the staircase, duckjump to land at the top of the stairs. Head to the right and at the last door on the left, enter and grab the key from the drawer to the left of the bed. Head back out and follow the walkway to the right to the dead woman's ghost. Inside, press use on the planks to drop down into the bar, then enter the small elevator. Once inside the kitchen, grab the diary, then wait for the microwave to break down the locked door. Crawl through the vents, then up to the top floor of the elevator shaft via the ladder (watch out for the falling elevator). Navigate the hallways until you get to the Hallway of Pain.
