Unfortunately, I don't know enough about deinterlacing to be able to write something accurate. I don't know what the intention of the advice is, I can only tell that it's unclear. Now that you say vdub should not be used at all for deinterlacing the only thing I can think of is removing this advice and replacing it with something saying "only deinterlace when you know that you need to" and then state the cases when deinterlacing is needed (which I don't know) and where it should be done (link to anri, link to AviSynth scripting) /[[User:Moooh|Moooh]] 03:12, 29 April 2009 (CDT)

This article is aimed at people knowledgeable about video encoding. It could probably use a little laymanization (yes, I just invented a word). Manocheese

VirtualDub: Blending is not the best option

This paragraph just says what deinterlace option not to use, it doesn't say what to actually pick. This doesn't really help people that are not very into video encoding as they will no doubt be confused over what to pick. Also, looking at some posts at the tech support forum I see that several people have deinterlaced their videos when they shouldn't have. I don't know if they read the kb or not before doing so, but since the general advice being the second link of the main page chances are pretty good they got that far. I think this paragraph needs to be clarified abit more and linked to a relevant page explaining when to and when not to deinterlace (the text in part 5 of the AviSynth page covers this). /Moooh 15:41, 25 April 2009 (CDT)
