Using the second enemy to bounce over the boss's head is important: as long as it never turns around you gain time on the last three hits.

= The route =
The next four areas - Emerald, Ruby, Topaz and Sapphire Passages - can be done in any order. However, with the propensity for some zips to softlock the game, it makes sense to get the most difficult stages out of the way early. The most dangerous ones all happen to be in the Ruby Passage, so even though it's technically slower on the map, the current route goes there first, which will be reflected on this page.
